Summary of Five Keys training of women in Manshiet Nasser, Cairo, Egypt

Initiated by the WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean, the Associate for the Development and Enhancement of Women (ADEW) (www.adew.org) an Egyptian feminist NGO committed to empowering Female Heads of Household economically, legally and socially, has developed a train the trainers course on the Five Keys.  Among its activities, ADEW provides health services to thousands of women in some of Cairo’s poorest slums.  ADEW is committed to providing a better way of life for women and children through programs including training and awareness. In this context, ADEW has started conducting training courses  on the WHO Five Keys to Safer Food in the Manshiet Nasser area in Cairo to enable women to overcome many of the unsafe food handling practices and therefore prevent the diseases caused by the consumption of unsafe food.
